Bees and Butterflies in A Collage Garden, by Conni Schaftenaar
I used Photoshop to add bees to my collage, Down Memory Lane into a Recycled Garden, Paper Collage of Butterflies and Flowers on Canvas, also on my gallery. Two of the bees are from colored pencil works, also on my gallery, and the third bee is a digital creation I did in Procreate. I am adding this to my gallery in preparation for the August celebration of the group The ARTIST BUZzz.
Background on the base collage: Over many years, I have put my art on greeting cards and annual calendars, originally done as gifts to clients of my marketing business. I took sample prints and left over printed materials from some of these items, cut out butterfly and flower and leaf images and placed them on a canvas that had a background created with watercolors in blues and greens, with texture added by "scrunching" plastic wrap across the canvas until the watercolor dried.
All of the pieces are from art I've created over the years, and I liked the loose scatter of bits of blossoms, leaves and flittering butterflies.
