Back in March this year, I started doing a negative painting exercise, and I chose to paint from a photo I took here on our farm in West Michigan of naturalized daffodils that appear every spring. I was hungry for spring, flowers, nice weather. Ironically, here it is Memorial Day weekend, the daffys and the tulips and the crocus have come and gone, and it's STILL not very spring-like. Regardless of the weather where you are, I hope these sunny daffodils make you smile!
I used Aureolin, Ultramarine Blue, Gamboge and a few touches of Quin. Gold in this painting.
