I used an AI-generator, DeepAI, to generate this horse image. I wanted to explore what kind of image could be created from my text input. I played with several of the "style" choices and liked this one a lot, so decided to download and keep it. I love the way the light playing over his glossy black coat reflects the colorful background - looks like ribbon candy!

I have deeply mixed feelings about AI art, now that I've experimented with "generating" it myself. It's fun and probably addictive if I allowed myself to do it frequently. However, it is not "satisfying" in the sense that I didn't really have any serious input into the design, or the colors, other than saying the stallion is black and running, mane and tail flowing in the wind, and on a colorful background. I also recognize that it is highly likely that the datasets used to generate this running horse draw on art and photographs from other artists who may or may not have given permission for their copyrighted images to be used. It is impossible to tell what "knowledge" this image was drawn from, but I think this will be my one and only foray into AI art - no real technique or skill or knowledge is required, and one of the satisfying things about art to me is imagining an image and making it happen as close to my imagination as I can get, by using the tools, whether brush or pencil or stylus, and choosing the colors myself and how and where they are applied. This is basically just a fun game, in my opinion.
