Artist's Description

This is my second watercolor study of this image - I wanted to try a couple of things differently than I had done on the first version (also shown on my gallery). While on a business trip recently to San Francisco, a co-woker and I had an early lunch in a small Italian restaurant on Nob Hill. As we sat in the front window of the restaurant, we looked across the street at a charming townhouse with an immense flowering climber vine that framed a porch and a red front door. On the plane flying home, I found myself thinking about the image and I sketched it. This painting is the result, although I chose to make the light as if it were early morning to add brightness to the plantings and the red door. I'd love to hear your comments on both versions of this painting!

I have had much joy in the comments and communications on FAA with other artists about my art, finding out that OTHER PEOPLE actually like my art! It's been a huge confidence booster to me to get that positive feedback, and I really appreciate it. I primarily paint in watercolor on various...
