I was driving home from a grocery store trip when suddenly this scene caught my eye. This array of beautiful wildflowers is in the roadside ditch, leading up to a wooded area. This is a developing area, with more and more industrial development happening, so I'm afraid that this lovely woods and wildflowers in the ditch may not be here for too many more seasons. But this was so stunningly beautiful I had to turn around, find a safe place to park my car, cross the road, and take photos from a variety of angles. Meanwhile, the road is moderately busy, so cars and trucks were whizzing by behind my back, drivers probably rolling their eyes at this crazy woman walking along the road pointing a camera at some weeds. Hahahahaha! I get the last laugh, because I have a bunch of gorgeous photos that I can play with for various artistic endeavors, and just to enjoy looking at, besides!

Among many things, I see dandelions (Taraxacum), wild yarrow (Achillea millefolium), orange touch-me-nots (Impatiens capensis), purple loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria), Queen Anne's Lace (Daucus carota), and blue chicory (Cichorium intybus). The huge variety makes me wonder if someone seeded wildflowers here.
