Description
Photography of tiny yellow blossoms in the vegetable garden, by Conni Schaftenaar.
While doing garden cleanup this fall on our West Michigan farm, I discovered something new - turnip greens, if the turnips are not harvested, put up a tall stalk that bears these tiny beautiful flowers as a prelude to setting seeds. They are about .25" in diameter, very tiny, and beautiful, as you can see. The large leafy greens of the turnip tops below them are visible in the background.
At this point, the unharvested turnips will be pulled, greens and all, and go to our Berkshire hogs in the field - they LOVE garden stuff!
