I took this photo of a beautiful Tiger Swallowtail butterfly on a hanging flower basket I had one year outside my office. It visited often for awhile!

Fun capture! Love the vibrant purples next to the wide variety of greens... and setting off the butterfly so nicely. Beautiful! I was at a private butterfly and Monarch garden yesterday and enjoyed seeing all the variety of wild and tame nectar producing flowers. The owner was encouraging ways to keep our beautiful butterfly friends sheltered, fed and protected. Someday I plan to go back and take pictures of the flowers and dig a few up for my own yard.

Excellent idea to create a little butterfly haven in your own yard and garden. I have been crazy about butterflies and moths since I was a child - I don't know if you saw my Moth Collection image, but those moths are over 50 years old and were collected and mounted by my mom, my brother and me, when we were kids. I no longer have any interest in the mounting, but I do love to watch them, paint them, and photograph them! Thanks so much for your kind remarks about this photo!
