Description
A fluffy, beautiful snowfall early in January 2015 offered me this view of a burdock plant growing up against the red barn siding on our farm in West Michigan. I loved the contrast of colors, and love the contrast of perception offered by a normally ugly weed, covered in large burrs that stick to everything, looking so gorgeous!
Laurel Adams, fellow FAA artist, had this to say about this photo: "the foreground white and black organics against the red barn…the mid ground textures of stone foundation and visual interest of the doorway (always mysterious) and against the vertical lines of backdrop! Take all of the “elements” and drop them into the intoxication of EXTRAordinary-ORDINARY everyday experiences available to ANYONE, yet few SEE. ..UNTIL an artist points them out." Thanks, dear Laurel, your encouragement is deeply appreciated!
