Holiday Peace Card Pink Poinsettia Watercolor Negative Painting, by Conni Schaftenaar.
I digitally added the word "Peace" to a scan of my watercolor painting, Poinsettia Watercolor Negative Painting, also on my gallery. This would make a great holiday greeting card!
The finished version of the painting represents 5 glazes of color in some places that started with pinks and blues across a background, picking out the flower petals and bracts. Added some more darks and darkened some of the background leaves, picked out veining in the petals and leaves.
The interim WIP with 3 glazes of color is also on my gallery.
Colors used were Permanent Rose, Ultramarine Blue, Aureolin yellow, Sap Green, and Violet. Sap Green and Ultramarine Blue were mixed into a "teal" for some of the leaf glazes - Sap Green was not used pure anywhere.
